About BRADA

BRADA began in the surf. The first time Reese Fabro taught someone to ride a wave, he saw that pure stoke — the kind of joy that every surfer knows. Surfing bonded people together through the ocean, through laughter, and through looking out for one another.

Growing up on Kauaʻi, Reese was taught to protect his younger sister and carry family first. That carried into surfing, where the buddy system in big waves made him a natural protector — a brada in every sense. Friends started to joke about the “gorilla brada” always watching over the crew.

The joke stuck. Whether it was Joel, Yuzo, Victor, Will, Dillon, or Taka, the word “brada” became more than a nickname. It became a daily greeting, a reminder of aloha, and a bond that welcomed locals and tourists alike.

The first shirt design made people laugh — a playful twist on luxury fashion. But then they realized: “brada” isn’t just a parody. It’s a word Hawaiʻi lives by. It means looking after each other, making fun, sharing aloha, and never taking life too seriously.

Today, BRADA is more than apparel. It’s a movement from a small island in the middle of the ocean, spreading smiles, aloha, and brotherhood around the world. Every shirt carries that reminder: laugh more, protect your crew, and live with aloha.
